Delaware Park, whose 2006 season ended Nov. 19, saw an overall decrease in handle of 2.94% and an on-track dip of 7.55%, the track reported.
In addition, simulcast handle was off 2.54%.
Officials attributed the decline to decreased field size. All-source handle at Delaware totaled $228,363,567 in 2006.
The season included facility improvements and upgrades. Phase 1 was the renovation of the first floor clubhouse that included the addition of the area's largest indoor video wall, the continuation of the grandstand seating replacement, and various track and backside improvements.
Delaware Park now offers more than 3,000 slot machines on two spacious levels, live Thoroughbred racing from April to November, and year-round simulcasting action, in addition to other amenities.
