Jockey Russell Baze and trainer Jerry Hollendorfer, a dominating duo in Bay Area horseracing for two decades, teamed for three winners at Bay Meadows Sunday as Baze zeroes in on the Laffitt Pincay Jr.'s all-time victory mark of 9,530.

The 48-year-old Baze ended the day with 9,519 wins.

Baze captured the first race with the Hollendorfer-conditioned Pleasure Honor ($3.60), the winner by a nose. Hollendorfer sent Baze out to win the third race with first-time starter Another Kris ($6.60), a slight favorite. Baze and Hollendorfer capped a great day when Royal Okie ($6) won the seventh race for owner Gary Barber.

With his two other mounts Sunday – both Hollendorfer trainees – Baze finished second with favored Urban King in the fourth race and off the board on Swiss Sonata in the eighth. His mount in the second race, Izzacopy, was scratched.

Baze is named on six mounts when racing resumes at Bay Meadows Nov. 22.
