A 12-year-old stallion brought a top price of $75,000 during Saturday's next-to-last session of Keeneland's November Breeding Stock Sale.
Robert Maybin bought Acceptable, a graded stakes winner of $713,020 who has sired more than 140 winners from five crops of racing age. Richland Hills, as agent, sold the son of Capote.
Keeneland sold 161 horses for $1,236,100 during Saturday's session. The average was $7,678 and the median was $5,000. There was no comparable session during last year's 12-day sale.
Through 13 days of selling, 3,022 horses have been sold for $312,790,200, second highest gross in the long history of the breeding stock sale. The cumulative average is $103,504 and the median is $40,000.
The 14-day auction concludes Sunday.
