(Edited press release)
Following a nationwide search, Oaklawn Park named David Longinotti assistant general manager of racing. His appointment is effective Dec. 1.

Longinotti comes to Oaklawn with years of experience in racetrack management, having worked at racetracks in Oklahoma and Ohio. Most recently, he served as senior account executive at Cranford Johnson Robinson Woods, the Little Rock communications firm that has represented Oaklawn for more than 40 years.

"Because David served the Oaklawn account for ten years, he brings a unique background and perspective to the Oaklawn family," general manager Eric Jackson said. "He has a passion for our sport that is unsurpassed, and his knowledge of our industry will be a great benefit."

Longinotti has represented Oaklawn in various racing organizations, such as the National Thoroughbred Racing Association, and has negotiated broadcast rights to key Oaklawn stakes races with Winner Communications and ESPN.

"This is an unbelievable opportunity for me, as Oaklawn's future has never been brighter," Longinotti said. "Hot Springs, horse racing, and Oaklawn have been a big part of my family's heritage for several generations. I look forward to continuing to grow Oaklawn's reputation as one of the premier horse racing venues in North America."

Before his racetrack management ventures, Longinotti was a sports writer for the Hot Springs Sentinel-Record. He currently resides in Hot Springs with his wife, Regina, and children, Samantha Lynn and James Gibson.
