Erdenheim Farm to Disperse at Keeneland January

Edited press releaseAll of the Thoroughbreds owned by the Estate of F. Eugene Dixon Jr.'s Erdenheim Farm will be dispersed at the 2007 Keeneland January sale.
Dixon, nephew of George D. Widener, died in August at the age of 82. He was the longtime chairman of the Pennsylvania State Horse Racing Commission and was instrumental in the passage of account wagering, off-track betting and slot-machine legislation in the state.
Among the horses in the dispersal, which will be handled by Claiborne Farm Charlton Bloodstock, are the stakes-winning broodmares Solvig(pregnant to
Afleet Alex), Lady Dora (in foal to
Johannesburg), Quick 'n Smart (in foal to
Northern Afleet ), and From Away (in foal to
War Chant ).
Thirteen foals of 2006 by such sires as
Fusaichi Pegasus ,
Arch ,
Pulpit and others will be offered, as well as 11 foals of 2005 by
Awesome Again ,
Dynaformer ,
Dixie Union,
Seeking the Gold, and others.
The 27 horses of racing age include stakes winners Only In Philly, Play Bingo, and several recent maiden and allowance winners.
