HRTV to Air Melbourne Cup on Nov. 6

HorseRacing TV will give viewers a trackside seat at Australia's greatest Thoroughbred race when it presents live coverage of the $5 million (Aus) Melbourne Cup on Nov. 6 at 11 p.m. ET.

A field of 24 is expected to go to post for the event, which annually is run during the first week of November at Flemington Racecourse in Melbourne.

Tawgeet, who was a neck ahead of Aqua d'Amore at the Caulfield Cup (Aus-I) wire Oct. 21, is the 5-1 favorite to win the 3,200-meter event. Winner of five of 15 career starts, Tawgeet has banked nearly $2.4 million (Aus.) in purse money. Irish entry Yeats is the 7-1 second choice in the Melbourne event.
