Darley Stable's Dubai Escapade zipped five furlongs in a quick :59 3/5 at Churchill on Monday, Oct. 30, as she showed her fitness for Saturday's TVG Breeders' Cup Sprint (gr. I) at Churchill Downs.
The time for the 4-year-old daughter of
Awesome Again was the fastest of the day among 40 working the distance.
"That's the way she works," trainer Eoin Harty said. "She always works fast. For her, that was actually slow. That was as slow as we could get her to go. She does more than you want, if anything. She did it very easily."
Bred in Kentucky by Needham/Betz and James Blackburn, Dubai Escapade was a $2 million purchase at the March 2004 Barretts sale of 2-year-olds in training. She has won six of eight starts career starts, including the Madison Stakes (gr. II), Vagrancy Handicap (gr. II), and Ballerina Breeders' Cup (gr. I).
