Charles Laloggia's Skip Code got a feel of the Churchill Downs main track Sunday, Oct. 29, as he completed his final preparations for the Bessemer Trust Breeders' Cup Juvenile (gr. I).The Skip Away colt went five furlongs in 1:03 2/5 under Jose Castanon, the 28th fastest work of 42 at the distance.Norman Casse, assistant to his father, trainer Mark Casse, said Skip Code did not need to show much because he already had done his most serious Breeders' Cup work when he went in 1:00 2/5 for five furlongs over the Polytrack at Woodbine on Oct. 21. That work was the fastest of 91 going the distance that day.The colt, bred in Kentucky by Summer Wind Farm, won the Grey Breeders' Cup (gr. III) for his second victory in a row after breaking his maiden over Woodbine's artificial surface Sept. 20 in his fourth career start."The whole plan was to just get a little bit of work in at Churchill," the younger Casse said. "The time was not even that important. He didn't look like he was getting into it that much, but he galloped out really strong, and that's a positive."
