Crafty Friend to Walnford in New Jersey

Crafty Friend will stand in 2007 at Walnford Stud near Allentown, N.J. The 13-year-old son of Crafty Prospector will stand as the property of a syndicate for $6,000 live foal.
Crafty Friend, whose big wins came in the Forego (gr. II) and Tom Fool (gr. II) Handicaps in New York, has sired seven stakes winners, including this year's graded winner Friendly Island, who is pre-entered in the TVG Breeders' Cup Sprint (gr. I). Another of Crafty Friend's runners, My Snookie's Boy, ran second in the Haskell Invitational Handicap (gr. I) two years ago.
Crafty Friend, who is out of the Princely Native mare Companionship, has 2006 progeny earnings of $1.8 million, a figure that will place him at the top of the New Jersey sires list. His career progeny earnings are $5.5 million. Crafty Friend formerly stood at Hopewell Farm near Midway, Ky.
