Coolmore Stud stallion Rock of Gibraltar, Cartier Horse of the Year in 2002, will stand the 2007 breeding season in Japan. The Irish-based farm has entered into an agreement with the Japan Bloodhorse Breeders' Association to stand the 7-year-old son of deceased Coolmore stallion Danehill for next year.Rock of Gibraltar was a champion in England, Ireland, and France, and a mile classic winner in the first two countries. He raced once in the U.S., finishing second in the 2002 NetJets Breeders' Cup Mile (gr. IT) in his career finale.Rock of Gibraltar, who is out of the Be My Guest mare Offshore Boom, is represented by three stakes winners and three stakes-placed runners this year from his first crop. The group includes Irish group II winner Eagle Mountain.Danehill, a son of Danzig, stood the 1996 season in Japan.
