Montare completed a weekend Group 1 double for her sire, Montjeu, when she captured the Prix Royal-Oak (Fr-I) at Longchamp on Sunday.
Authorized, a 2-year-old colt by Montjeu, took top honors on Saturday in the Racing Post Trophy Stakes (Eng-I) at Newbury.
Montare, trained by Jonathan Pease and ridden by Olivier Peslier, ran mid-pack early on in the one mile and seven furlong marathon. Peslier drove the filly to the lead 100 yards out, and the 4-year-old had just enough to hold off Bellamy Cay by a short neck.
Classy campaigner and fan favorite Sergeant Cecil had to settle for third, just one length further back.
Montare is a 4-year-old bay filly by Montjeu out of Contare, by Shirley Heights. She was bred in Ireland by her owner, George Strawbridge.
