(from Hawthorne Park report)Rebecca Maker, trainer of Hawthorne Gold Cup (gr. II) winner It's No Joke, has indicated that the connections will take a pass on the Grade I Breeders' Cup Classic – Powered by Dodge (gr. I) on Nov. 4 at Churchill Downs.
Maker said the 4-year-old
Distorted Humor colt will instead point for either the Fayette Stakes (gr. III) on Oct. 28 at Keeneland or the Ack Ack Handicap (gr. III) on the Breeders' Cup undercard.
"Our main goal is the Clark," Maker said of the grade I race to be run on Nov. 24 at Churchill. "We thought it was best to take an easier route to get there."
