Officer to Stand for $40,000 at Taylor Made

Officer, who ranks second on the first-crop sires list by progeny earnings and third on the overall 2-year-old sires list, will stand for a $40,000 fee at the Taylor family's Taylor Made Farm near Nicholasville, Ky. Taylor Made acquired a 50% interest in the 7-year-old son of Bertrando from Dennis Narlinger, who stood Officer for four years at the Beck family's Gainesway Farm near Lexington.

Officer, who is out of the Septieme Ciel mare St. Helens Shadow, has sired 17 winners, including four stakes winners, and the earners of more than $950,000. Unbeaten in his first five races as a 2-year-old, Officer scored his major win in the Champagne Stakes (gr. I).
