Siphon City, a 4-year-old son of
Siphon bids to bounce back from a pair of disappointing road trips for trainer Dan Hurtak. He finished eighth after dueling for the lead in the Whitney Handicap (gr. Siphon City was claimed for $75,000 early in 2005 at Gulfstream Park and got good early in the meet here this spring, winning the Sumter overnight stakes and the Memorial Day Handicap (gr. III). The big chestnut went on the road for his next start and was sensational winning the $350,000 Cornhusker Breeders' Cup (gr. II) at Prairie Meadows in Iowa by six lengths on July 1.

The chestnut rallied for fifth last out in Calder's Smile Sprint (gr. II) July 15. He won the Unbridled Stakes at Calder as a 3-year-old at the 1 1/16-mile distance of the Spend a Buck.
