Don Amos Retires from Magna

Don Amos, chief operating officer of Magna Entertainment Corp., has retired, the company announced Oct. 12. MEC also announced that it has appointed Jim Bromby and Brant Latta senior vice-presidents of operation.
All the moves were effective Oct. 6.
Amos served with Magna International since 1984 in many capacities and has been the executive vice president and chief operating officer for Magna Entertainment and its racing operations since February 2004.
Bromby and Latta have worked with MEC since its inception. They are charged with working with MEC racetracks to improve their operating results.
"MEC remains dedicated to its vision and leadership position within the horseracing industry, said Frank Stronach, MEC chairman and interim chief executive officer. "At this time, we need to focus on improving our operating results as well as increased financial discipline so that MEC can reach its full potential. Both Jim and Brant have a wealth of knowledge about MEC and the horse racing industry."
