Kathleen Torok, a Keeneland employee who worked as the administrative assistant to the track's director of racing, Rogers Beasley, was killed in a traffic accident Thursday morning in Lexington, the Lexington Herald-Leader reported on its Web site.

According to the story, a Home City Ice truck ran a red light and struck the driver's side of Torok's car, a BMW 528i sedan, on New Circle Road. Torok, 46, died at the scene.

A police sergeant, Jay Postlewaite, told the Herald-Leader that the driver of the truck, Joe Sheppardson, might have suffered minor injuries, but he refused treatment.
