Storm Cat, the worldwide leader by stud fee the last five years, figures to stay that way in 2007. The 23-year-old stallion will remain at $500,000 at the Young family's Overbrook Farm near Lexington.
"We're pleased that the demand has continued to outstrip the supply. We feel confident the trend will continue," said Overbrook adviser Ric Waldman.
Storm Cat experienced a fruitful season in 2006. He covered 111 mares, and it took fewer covers than when he covered 109 mares the previous year.
Storm Cat (Storm Bird--Terlingua, by Secretariat) reached the 150 mark in stakes winners this summer.
