Stakes winner
Wheelaway was represented by his first winner when his daughter Twistaway won Oct. 9 at six furlongs at Belmont Park. Bred in New York by Joe and Anne McMahon's McMahon of Saratoga Thoroughbreds and Wenda Habenicht, Twistaway scored by 5 3/4 lengths in 1:12.18 for Sovereign Stable. Twistaway, a half-sister to stakes winner Spin Zone, is out of the Known Fact mare Twist the Facts.
Wheelaway (Unbridled--Cuidado, by Damascus) also is the sire of stakes-placed Phyllee Rae. He stands at McMahon of Saratoga Thoroughbreds near Saratoga Springs, N.Y. His 2006 fee was $6,000.
