Wetherbys Fall Mixed Sale Set for Oct. 21 in Texas

A new Thoroughbred auction in Texas, the Wetherbys fall mixed sale, is scheduled for Oct. 21 at the Will Rogers Memorial Center in Fort Worth. Brian Wallis, a Decatur resident who owns Dormello Stud, is operating the sale, which begins at noon. Horses can be inspected beginning at 4 p.m. on Oct. 20.
There are 150 horses catalogued: 51 broodmares, 30 yearlings, eight weanlings, 15 horses of racing age, and a stallion. The broodmares include daughters of Sadler's Wells, Graustark, Deputy Minister, Affirmed,
Holy Bull,
Langfuhr , Wild Again and Lord Avie. The yearling offerings include offspring of
Fantastic Light,
Volponi,
Wild Zone, and Uncle Abbie.
In addition to the auction, there will be a raffle for stallion seasons held prior to the sale. Tickets will be given to each consignor and registered buyer, and additional tickets can be purchased for $5. The seasons are to Bannack, Baron de Vaux, Captain Countdown, Churchhill, Daring Messenger, El Leopardo, Flaming Quest, Hi Teck Man, Menhal, Thats Our Buck, The Great Prize, Tinners Way, Uncle Abbie, and Wajir.
