A field of 10 sophomore fillies will contest the $400,000-added Indiana Breeders' Cup Oaks (gr. III) Friday evening at Hoosier Park. Puglisi Stables and Steve Klesaris' Miraculous Miss has been selected as the 5-2 favorite for the 1 1/16 miles event.
Miraculous Miss has drawn post eight for Klesaris, who also trains the Mr. Greeley filly. The 3-year-old is perfect in her last three starts, all in graded stakes company. Her most recent effort was a 1 1/2-length victory in the $200,000 Endine Handicap (gr. III) at Delaware Park. Mario Pino is slated to ride.
Miraculous Miss was also entered in Saturday's Cotillion (gr. II) at Philadelphia Park.
Ermine, second in the Kentucky Oaks (gr. I), is the second choice at 7-2 odds. By Exchange Rate
, Ermine enters Friday's contest off a fifth-place finish in the $250,000 Acorn Stakes (gr. I) for owner Oxbow Racing. Trained by Ronny Werner, the chestnut filly has drawn the outside post for jockey Calvin Borel.
Like Miraculous Miss, Ermine was also cross-entered in the Cotillion.
The Indiana Breeders' Cup Oaks is slated as the ninth race on Friday evening's card, with an estimated post time of 9:40 p.m. EDT.
