Godolphin added to its Group 1 success in France this season when Caradak prevailed in a tight finish to win the Prix de la Foret (Fr-I) at Longchamp on Saturday.

In winning the Foret, Caradak made amends for just missing victory in the 2005 running. He finished second by a head to Court Masterpiece in last year's renewal. The 5-year-old son of Desert Style was coming off an impressive victory over George Washington in the Celebration Mile (Eng-II) at Goodwood in his most recent start.

Jockey Frankie Dettori had Caradak just off the pace set by Welsh Emperor, and the pair powered to the lead one furlong out.

Linngari, ridden by Yutaka Take, rolled alongside Caradak and pressed him to the wire. Caradak held on to win by a short neck, with Linngari and Welsh Emperor finishing in a dead heat for second.

Godolphin racing manager Simon Crisford told reporters after the race, "He is a horse who deserves a Group 1. He's been around the top table for the last two years. We will look at the Breeders' Cup, but we also have a race in Hong Kong in December in mind."
