Dutch Art remained undefeated with an impressive victory in the Shadwell Stud Middle Park Stakes (Eng-I) at Newmarket on Friday.
The Peter Chapple-Hyam trainee now has four wins from four starts, three of them coming in group races. The chestnut colt had won the Darley Prix Morny (Fr-I) in August at Deauville in his most recent start.
After racing just behind the leaders Brave Tin Soldier and Captain Marvelous, Dutch Art quickened when asked by Frankie Dettori about two furlongs from home. The 6-5 favorite held a clear lead with a furlong left, and bounded home to win by two lengths over Wi Dud. Captain Marvelous was another 1 ¼-lengths back in third.
Dettori commented after the race that "I only had to change my hands; he quickened up and won like a good horse should do."
