Heritage of Gold put in a quick six-furlong drill over a track listed as good at Churchill Downs Thursday. The 5-year-old daughter of Gold Legend completed the work in 1:11 4/5, handily, in the fastest of three works at the distance Thursday. In April, Heritage of Gold won the Apple Blossom Handicap (gr. I), beating a field which included Eclipse champion Beautiful Pleasure. Those rivals will likely meet again as they are both being pointed toward the Go for Wand Handicap (gr. I) at Saratoga July 30...Golden Missile continues to lead all rivals in the NTRA Thoroughbred Poll. Lemon Drop Kid moved up from sixth to second with his weekend win, and Behrens falls to third. Fusaichi Pegasus may have dropped from third to fourth in the Thoroughbred Poll, but he continues to lead all 3-year-olds. Red Bullet is second followed by Commendable who passes Aptitude.
