Edited press release

The world of the Thoroughbred, as seen by European and American artists, will be represented at the 29th equine art auction of Harness Tracks of America, to be held Oct. 6-7 at the Tattersalls Sales Arena in Lexington.

The Thoroughbred subjects are being offered during the Oct. 6 session that begins at 8:30 a.m. EDT. They include the vivid color and high-impact action paintings of the Polish artist and former cavalry officer Zenon Aniszewski; three works by George Ford Morris, the leading American equine artist of the first half of the 20th century; and a large oil of the Ascot Gold Cup, painted in the 1940s by the noted English artist Alfred Egerton Cooper.

The HTA auction is the only American outlet for works by Aniszewksi.

Polo and pasture scenes are included in the collection, which will be on exhibit Oct. 2-5 in the upper level of the grandstand at The Red Mile in Lexington. No buyers' premiums are charged, and full-color, enlargeable catalogues can be viewed at www.elegantequineart.com. For further information call 520-241-7145.
