Forbes 'Richest Americans' List Includes Horsemen

A wealthy group of individuals that includes active buyers at the Keeneland September yearling sale are among those listed in the annual roster of "400 Richest Americans" released Friday by Forbes magazine.

Included in the rankings are public storage industrialist B. Wayne Hughes, who checks in tied for 61st with an estimated net worth of $4.1 billion. Vintner Jess Stonestreet Jackson, who like Hughes, has been among the contingent supporting this year's record sales at Keeneland, is tied for 140th at $2.2 billion. Hughes has unofficially spent $4.975 million on nine yearlings at Keeneland through Thursday's results, while Jackson, buying in the name of his Stonestreet Stables, has purchased 11 lots for $5.475 million.

Perennial leader and computer magnate Bill Gates tops the Forbes list with an estimated net worth of $53 billion.
