Edited American Horse Council release
Issues facing the horse industry--including equine health, taxes, and trails--will be addressed during the American Horse Council's "Issues Forum" in Austin, Texas, Sept. 25.

In the morning an equine health forum will take place to address Equine Viral Arteritis, African Horse Sickness and Piroplasmosis. There will also be morning presentations on new developments in taxes for horse owners and breeders, the Unwanted Horse Coalition, and access to trails and Right to Ride. The afternoon will be spent discussing the National Animal Identification System, and how it might affect horse owners. There will be several presentations on the issue followed by an "Ask the Experts" panel, a great opportunity to have your questions answered.

"The AHC believes it is critical for horse owners to know about the national issues that are impacting our industry at this time. This meeting will allow for the sharing of information on issues that have been making the news," said Jay Hickey, AHC president. "We feel that this is an excellent opportunity for horse owners to hear experts in each field and ask questions on the topics that are unique and significant to our industry."

The forum will be held at the Marriott Austin Airport South, 4415 South IH-35 Austin, TX from 8:45 a.m.-4 p.m.
