Wilcke Named Director of University of Louisville Equine Program Prior to joining the faculty at U of L, Wilcke served as the first executive director of the Maryland Million, the nation's original $1 million state-racing day started in 1986. He also served as executive vice-president of the Maryland Horse Breeders Association, where he founded the Mid-Atlantic Thoroughbred magazine. From 1979 to 1984, he was CEO and President of the Council for a Competitive Economy, a Washington, D.C.-based business association with corporate members in all 50 states. Currently, Wilcke is a director of the Kentucky Equine Education Project (KEEP), a member of the national racing committee of the American Quarter Horse Association in Amarillo, secretary of the American Youth Horse Council in Colorado Springs, a board member of the Kentucky Horse Council, and chairman of the Kentucky Quarter Horse Association's Sprint Racing Committee. |
