Prince Flori Surprises at Baden-Baden

Prince Flori burst through the field with a furlong left to run to spring a 40-1 surprise in the Grosser Volkswagen Preis von Baden (Ger-I) on Sunday.The 3-year-old son of Lando, trained by Sascha Smrczek and ridden by Filip Minarik, had been well-beaten in the BMW Deutches Derby (Ger-I) by race favorite Schiaparelli. That colt was never a factor, however, as he finished a disappointing sixth.Prince Flori won by three lengths over Oriental Tiger, with Saddex third.
