Grade I winner
Matty G will stand in 2007 at Ron and Nina Hagen's El Dorado Farms near Enumclaw, Wash.
The 13-year-old son of Capote is in the process of being re-syndicated and will stand for $4,500 live foal. His 2006 progeny earnings of nearly $980,000 places him third on Washington's leading sires list.
Matty G, whose big win came in the Hollywood Futurity (gr. I), has sired grade II winners My Cousin Matt and Sinister G, plus grade III winners Deputy G and
Mayakovsky . The last-named holds Saratoga's track record for 5 1/2 furlongs. Matty G's seven career stakes winners also include 2006 added-money winners A. J. Melini and Stillistillmovin, both of whom were added-money winners in August.
Matty G, a Seattle Slew grandson who is out of the stakes-placed Pia Star mare Star Gem, is a half-brother to grade I winner Star of Cozzene and grade III winner J. F. Williams.
Matty G formerly stood at Darby Dan Farm (John Phillips, co-managing partner) near Lexington.
