Doug Bredar, racing secretary at Churchill Downs and Ellis Park since 2002, has been dismissed from his position, according to the Daily Racing Form.

Citing an unnamed family member as the source, the Form said Bredar had cleaned out his office at Churchill Monday and planned to depart Ellis Park Tuesday.

Julie Koenig Loignon, vice president of communications for Churchill Downs, would not comment on the report. "As a matter of policy, we do not comment on personnel matters," she said.

Bredar, 44, replaced former racing secretary Jerry Botts, who died in December 2001. Bredar, who is married to television personality Caton Bredar, previously served as a racing official at Hollywood Park, Gulfstream Park, Arlington Park, Turf Paradise, and Prairie Meadows.
