Jockey Kent Desormeaux took off his Sunday mounts at Saratoga Race Course after he was involved in an automobile accident in Saratoga Springs, N.Y. According to Desormeaux's agent, Mike Sellito, the jockey was the passenger in a vehicle that collided with another car sometime late Saturday evening.
Sellito said Desormeaux was not seriously injured, but went to Saratoga Hospital with an unidentified friend, who had been driving the vehicle. The agent did not know the extent of the friend's injuries.
"He was with his friend in the hospital until 6:30 this morning," Sellito said. "He's a little sore and obviously very tired. He'll ride tomorrow."
