Chester Taylor, Father of Mickey Taylor of Seattle Slew Fame, Dead

Chester Taylor, whose son and daughter-in-law - Mickey and Karen Taylor - raced the great Seattle Slew with Dr. Jim Hill and his wife, Sally, died Aug. 21 at his Ellensburg, Wash., home. He was 92.
Taylor and his wife, Leola, became recognizable figures in the "Slew Crew." He became Slew's night watchman and set up shop outside the barn in a trailer during the horse's racing career. Seattle Slew captured the 1977 Triple Crown and Horse of the Year title before becoming a leading sire.
Taylor is survived by Mickey and Karen Taylor. Leola preceded him in death. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to:
