Equine Nutrition Conference Scheduled

Edited press release
Kentucky Equine Research, Inc. is holding its 15th Annual Nutrition Conference in Lexington, Kentucky on Oct. 16-17, 2006. The theme of the conference is "From Foal to Finish–Factors Affecting the Production of the Equine Athlete."

Producing a top athlete involves years of precise management during the growth and development period, and many factors can prevent a horse from reaching its full potential. Equine research teams around the world are focused on factors that affect the growth and development of a sound athlete. This year's KER conference features several internationally renowned scientists who are scheduled to present the latest research findings in growth, nutrition, management, and disease.

The KER conference is designed not only to update veterinarians and breeders on the latest scientific developments behind producing a top athlete, but also to arm them with practical management tools that can be applied in day-to-day farm management.

KER is an international nutrition and consultation company that works with feed manufacturers to develop horse feeds suited for the particular regions in which they are to be fed. Research efforts are the cornerstone of KER, and all scientific trials are directed by KER founder Dr. Joe Pagan. Conclusions drawn from these trials are used in the formulation of technologically advanced feeds. In addition to its research endeavors, KER has a rich tradition of providing top-of-the-line feeds to the greatest equine athletes in the world. In 2000, the company was tapped to be the official nutritionist of the United States Equestrian Team. KER has also played a pivotal role in procuring feeds for the last three Olympic Games.
