The Florida Department of Law Enforcement has opened its first office to regulate slot machines, which are expected in Florida by the end of the year.

The new Gaming Enforcement Team is working to protect slots from scammers and organized crime.

FDLE Special Agent Amos Rojas, Junior says Florida has assembled a strong team to protect the integrity of the games and the millions of dollars generated for state coffers.

The team has set up at Gulfstream Park in Hallandale Beach and will eventually place agents at each of Broward County's four pari-mutuels where voters approved the use of slot machines.

Rojas says the Gaming Enforcement Team has received a lot of training from state police in other states with gaming.

Governor Jeb Bush says he's confident the state's regulations and Gaming Enforcement Team will ensure that the slots business is above reproach in Florida.
