Carlos Gonzalez Records 2,000th Win

Jockey Carlos Gonzalez won his 2,000th race on Friday when he guided Del Norte to victory in the ninth race at Louisiana Downs.

Gonzalez, 41, rallied the 6-year-old gelding while three wide coming in the lane to win by a head in the seven-furlong claiming race.

A native of Puerto Rico, Gonzalez has been riding in North America since 1986.
