The $1 million grand prize NTRA "Mystery Mutuel Voucher" was redeemed Saturday at Canterbury Park in Shakopee, Minn., outside Minneapolis.

The winner is Fred Holland of Mounds View, Minn.

Holland, 56, is a laundry machine operator at a local hospital. He is a frequent patron at Canterbury Park. He redeemed the voucher at 11:35 a.m. local Central time, after coming to the track early to play East Coast simulcast tracks.

Saturday's NTRA "Mystery Mutuel Voucher" is the NTRA's 12th such promotion dating back to August 2000. Holland is the first person to redeem a grand prize winning voucher.

"It feels great to win," said Holland. "I'm still in disbelief."
