(from Del Mar notes)Jockey Corey Nakatani, hospitalized with a virus infection since Tuesday, was reported to be in much better condition Friday morning by his agent.
Agent Tom Knust, said that Nakatani could be getting out of Huntington Memorial Hospital in Pasadena as early as this afternoon.
"His temperature is normal, he feels a lot better and his doctor is supposed to see him later in the day," Knust said. "He could be getting out today."
Knust said Nakatani will not be riding Saturday, which means he won't be aboard Caribbean for trainer Neil Drysdale in the La Jolla Handicap (gr. IIT) at Del Mar. Knust believes Nakatani might be able to ride Great Hunter for Doug O'Neill in Sunday's Best Pal Stakes (gr. II).
