Rainbow Quest, who stands at Khalid Abdullah's Banstead Manor Stud in England, needs just one more stakes winners to reach the 100 mark. The 25-year-old son of Blushing Groom out of the Herbager mare I Will Follow, has sired a boatload of champions worldwide and the earners of $47 million.

"He's in great condition," said Richard Knight, head of the nominations department at Banstead Manor, which is a division of Abdullah's Juddmonte Farms. "He's fit enough to cover 75 mares, but we keep him at 40 to 45. Part of the reason for his good health is that he's never covered big books. He's very professional in the breeding shed."

Rainbow Quest's runners include Eclipse Award winner Fiji, plus Saumarez, winner of the Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe (Fr-I).
