(from Saratoga notes)
Darley Stables' Songster posted his fourth workout Thursday morning over the Saratoga main track since winning the Woody Stephens Breeders' Cup Stakes (gr. II) at Belmont Park on June 10.

Songster, who is being pointed for Monday's $150,000 Amsterdam Stakes (gr. II) for 3-year-olds sprinting six furlongs, breezed four furlongs in :50 3/5. Trainer Thomas Albertrani's goal for Songster at Saratoga is getting him to the $250,000 King's Bishop Stakes (gr. I) at seven furlongs on August 26.

"He worked good as he always does, and he's ready to go for Monday's race," Albertrani said. "We don't normally work him fast. We just wanted to stretch out his legs."

Other probables for the Amsterdam include Court Folly, Island Warrior, Noonmark, Regent Spirit, and Saint Daimon. Others being considered are Disco's Son, Fabulous Strike and Grand Survival.
