Grade II winner Good and Tough, sire of a pair of stakes winners this year, has been purchased by a partnership and will stand at Elite Thoroughbreds near Folsom, La. The 11-year-old son of Carson City stood in 2006 at Lakland North near Hudson, N.Y.

Good and Tough has sired a dozen horses that have won or placed in stakes. His six stakes winners include this year's added-money winners Pisgah and Tough Pilgrim, plus last year's graded stakes winner Maddalena. Good and Tough has sired the career earners of $4.2 million. His $1.1 million in 2006 progeny earnings places him third on the Louisiana sires list.

Good and Tough won three graded stakes, including the Commonwealth Breeders' Cup Stakes (gr. II) at Keeneland, and earned $809,341. He is out of the graded stakes-winning Northern Raja mare Amy Be Good and will stand next year for $3,000.
