Elizabeth Walsh's Gigi's Magic, making her first start of the year, took the opening advantage and never looked back recording an upset win in the $60,000 Jameela Stakes for Maryland-bred fillies on Pimlico's opening-day card.

Under Rick Wilson, Gigi's Magic carved out early fractions of :23.31 and :46.16 while cruising to a seven-length lead in the stretch. The 3-year-old filly hit the wire five lengths in front after getting the six furlongs in 1:10.33. Your Out was second, rallying to top Urban Dancer by a head. Hunka Hunka Lori Z was fourth.

Winless since breaking her maiden in her debut at Monmouth Park on June 1 of last year, Gigi's Magic returned $27. The exacta with Your Out returned $59.60.

A $13,000 Fasig-Tipton Midlantic September yearling purchase in 1999, Gigi's Magic is by Allen's Prospect out of the Sovereign Dancer mare Meli Magic. She was bred in Maryland by Mr. and Mrs. Henry T. Rathbun. She is trained by Kelly Breen.
