A Smart Strike filly was purchased by agent Joe Brocklebank for $410,000 to top the early portion of Tuesday's session of the Fasig-Tipton Kentucky July yearling sale.The filly, consigned by Mulholland Springs, was produced from the stakes-placed Steady Growth mare Lisieux, a half-sister to multiple grade II winner Sweetest Chant, the dam of grade II winner Danzig's Beauty and granddam of graded winner and sire Distorted Humor. The filly was bred in Kentucky by Gerry O'Meara and Stanley Inman.Second-highest price Tuesday of $375,000 was paid by Starlight Stables for a More Than Ready filly consigned by Eaton Sales. Produced from the unraced Storm Cat mare Itsmylife, the filly's second dam is Breeders' Cup Juvenile Fillies (gr. I) winner Twilight Ridge, the dam of stakes winners La Rosa and Daylight Ridge.The filly was bred in Kentucky by Mike Rutherford.
