Heat Brings Free Admission, Water for Claiming Crown

Edited press releaseWith the temperature expected to hover near 100 degrees in the Minneapolis-St. Paul area this weekend, Canterbury Park has decided to offer free admission for this Saturday's $600,000 Claiming Crown.
Seven Claiming Crown races and the $100,000 Lady Canterbury Breeders' Cup Stakes are featured on a 12-race program that begins at 4 p.m. CDT.
Culligan Co. has donated 12 watering stations at which patrons can get cold water free of charge.
"We are looking forward to providing an air-conditioned and comfortable environment where our fans can enjoy our biggest day of racing," Canterbury president Randy Sampson said. "We hope that the later post time will allow for a more comfortable climate for the patrons as well as the horses."
