Edited press release

Tim Bloom has joined the staff of the Texas Thoroughbred Association as director of marketing and member services.

A native of San Antonio, Bloom graduated from the race track industry program at the University of Arizona in December 2005. During college, Bloom completed internships in the racing offices at Hollywood Park and Turf Paradise.

Prior to completing the race track industry program, Bloom was a sales and marketing agent for State Farm Insurance and later USAA Life Insurance in San Antonio.

His first trip to a racetrack came in 1990 at Bandera Downs, and he later worked as a groom for a local trainer and also owned racehorses in partnership with his father.

"Dave Hooper and everyone at the TTA has extended me the tremendous opportunity to work as director of marketing and member services," said Bloom. "I look forward to contributing to the success of Texas racing and meeting the needs of our membership."
