Edited press releaseThe American Academy of Equine Art will hold its 2006 Fall Open Juried Exhibition at the William G. Kenton Gallery of the International Museum of the Horse at the Kentucky Horse Park in Lexington. The show will open with an artists' reception Sept. 22, from 6:30 to 9:00 p.m., and will run through Oct. 31.
The exhibition is an annual event, and this installment features paintings and sculptures by new and emerging artists, as well as art by academy full members and associates.
"We received over 500 entries from 43 states and four foreign countries, England, Canada, Ireland and Spain," said AAEA executive director Shelley Hunter. "We accepted 47 paintings and 16 sculptures. We are very pleased with the level of response and hope Kentucky Horse Park visitors will enjoy this fabulous exhibit."
Also included will be workshop instructors' pieces with biographies and blurbs on the classes they teach at the group's new, state-of-the-art facility.
