Stakes-placed 3-year-old filly Asaawir topped day two of Tattersalls' July Sale in Newmarket, England when bought for 170,000 guineas by local agent Richard Frisby for the Ptarmigan Bloodstock investment partnership.
The filly, who was trained by Mick Channon, will not run again but will be bred and resold at a later date.
An unraced 2-year-old Monsun filly consigned from Mark Wallace's Sefton Lodge Stables made 100,000 guineas when bought by Rudiger Alles of the German International agency.
She was purchased for Manfred Hellwig's Gestut Hony-Hof.
Three-year-old colt Yellow Flag was also sold for 100,000 guineas when bought by Tattersalls representative Andrew Maxwell on behalf of Timmy Hyde, who frequently purchases for top jump owner J. P. McManus.
With two days remaining, Tattersalls reported that the sale has already surpassed last year's totals. So far, the sale has grossed 8,094,300 guineas. During Wednesday's session, 184 horses were sold for 3,216,900 guineas, an average of 17,483 guineas and a median price of 11,000 guineas.
The sales continues Thursday with a session starting at 9:30 a.m.
