Graded stakes winner Deep Gold was represented by his first winner when his daughter, Vaquera, won July 9 at Ruidoso Downs as a homebred for Richard and Connie Snyder in her first start. The New Mexico-bred filly ran the five furlongs in 1:02.80 to win over another Deep Gold filly, Stop That Jive.
Produced from the stakes-winning Tasting mare Hot Fudge Hy, Vaquera is a half-sister to stakes-placed stakes producer Marshmellowfudge, dam of Deep Gold's stakes-placed son One Good Reisen.
Deep Gold (Olympio--Distinctive Review, by Distinctive Pro) stood at the Snyders' Cedar Creek Ranch near Grenville, N.M., prior to his death last year.
