ST Publishing Releases Best of 'Saratoga Special'

Edited press release
After five years of daily newspapers at Saratoga, ST Publishing has released the book form of The Saratoga Special.

"The Best of the Saratoga Special" is a 287-page, hard-cover book featuring the writing and photography from the daily newspaper. Launched by ST Publishing in 2001, The Special became a fixture for horsemen and fans at the six-week summer session at Saratoga Race Course in Saratoga Springs, N.Y.

Highlights include exclusive articles on Hall of Fame trainers Allen Jerkens and Bobby Frankel, leading jockey John Velazquez, legendary horseman John Nerud, and Hall of Fame jockey Pat Day. Readers will also follow horses such as Funny Cide, Empire Maker, Smarty Jones, Lost In The Fog, Azeri, and Afleet Alex.

"We started The Special because we cared about racing and cared about Saratoga," said Sean Clancy, a co-founder of ST Publishing with his brother Joe. "The book extends the feel of the newspaper, gives it life, and will reach out to people in a different way."

The book, which sells for $25, is available through ST Publishing, at various bookstores in and around Saratoga, or through equine book specialists. Online ordering will soon be available. Media and wholesale inquiries can be directed to ST Publishing via telephone or e-mail to orders@st-publishing.com.
