A 6-year-old Lac Ouimet gelding, Dreadnaught has won six of 26 races and has career earnings approaching a half a million dollars. Though winless in three starts this year, he was second, beaten only a head by Better Talk Now in the Dixie Stakes (gr. IIT) at Pimlico on the Preakness (gr. I) card May 20. Dreadnaught is a graded stakes winner at the Stars and Stripes distance, capturing Calder's W. L. McKnight Handicap (gr. IIT) in 2004.
