Behaving Badly Works Toward Next Start

Hal and Patti Earnhardt's grade I winner Behaving Badly, runner-up to stablemate Pussycat Doll in the May 6 Humana Distaff Handicap (gr. I) at Churchill Downs on May 6, will make her next start in either the $150,000 A Gleam Invitational Handicap (gr. II) at Hollywood Park or the $500,000 Princess Rooney Handicap (gr. I) at Calder Race Course, trainer Bob Baffert said.

The A Gleam is set to be run at seven furlongs over Hollywood's main track on July 1, while the six-furlong Princess Rooney -- Calder's first grade I event -- will take place on July 15 as part of the track's annual Summit of Speed program.

Five-year-old Behaving Badly worked seven furlongs in a bullet 1:24 over Santa Anita's fast main track on Tuesday morning.

"She's an awesome filly, I'll tell you what," Baffert said following the drill, which was the fastest of three at the distance on the day.

Behaving Badly, who was bred in New York by Thomas/Lakin, has won seven of her 10 career starts, with two seconds, and has earned $520,804. The daughter of Pioneering won four races in a row leading into the Humana Distaff, including the Santa Monica Stakes (gr. I) and Las Flores Handicap (gr. III). She also won last year's Rancho Bernardo Handicap (gr. III) in her stakes debut at Del Mar and this year's listed Bug Brush Stakes at Santa Anita.
